Austral Credit Union Limited (Austral CU) is both an industry and community based credit union, as a result of a number of mergers.

In 2000, Herald CU and Austral CU (based at Kodak) merged to form Herald Austral CU. Then in 2003, Herald Austral CU merged with Scallop CU to form Austral CU. Now, in 2006, Austral CU has merged with Amcor CU (in Feb) and Credit Union Home Loans/Melbourne CU (in April) to form the Austral CU of today.

Austral CU is a member owned and controlled organisation, which provides a wide range of convenient financial services. Since 1969 we have provided quality financial services to our members and their families. Today, anyone can take advantage of the many benefits offered by Austral CU.

Credit Unions For Kids

Austral raises funds for the Royal Children's Hospital through an initiative called CU4K. Credit union staff and members can donate at any Austral branch, or by transferring funds to membership 15191 - S14 account, or send Austral a cheque made out to Good Friday Appeal. These funds are then sent during the annual appeal.

How to Join
The process of joining Austral Credit Union is virtually the same as joining any financial institution. The main difference is that every member of Austral Credit Union becomes a shareholder by buying a $1.00 share. If you are not already a member, you can join by downloading a Membership Application form, completing it and returning it to Austral.
