Revised Date for Banking System Amalgamation
We recently sent you an information pack regarding the transfer of your Maleny Credit Union (MCU) banking products to Queensland Country Bank (Queensland Country).
In that correspondence, we advised that MCU’s banking business would be transferred to Queensland Country on 1 March 2021 and your MCU accounts would convert to Queensland Country accounts on the weekend of 26 to 28 February 2021.
We now wish to advise that the amalgamation of the MCU and Queensland Country banking systems will be delayed until the weekend of 19 to 21 March 2021.
The official transfer date of MCU’s banking business to Queensland Country will remain 1 March 2021. From this date MCU will cease operating a banking business and you will become a Member of Queensland Country. You will, however, need to continue using your MCU access cards and internet banking until after the amalgamation is completed on 21 March 2021.
We apologise for any inconvenience associated with the delay of the banking system amalgamation. Amalgamating the two systems is a significant project that is complicated by differences in the way the two systems operate. Delaying the date of the amalgamation will assist in overcoming these challenges and help minimise the impact of the change on MCU Members as much as possible.
An information pack detailing how the revised date of the banking system amalgamation will alter any of the information provided in our first correspondence will be emailed (or posted if we do not hold an email address for your Membership) on 22 February 2021.
