Term Deposit accounts

Maleny Credit Union has Term Deposit (TD) accounts to cater for members who wish to earn higher rates of interest on their investment funds for short to medium terms. Members can invest as little as $5,000 for terms ranging from 3 to 24 months. Contact branch for current applicable interest rates.

Members may open subsequent accounts so as to stagger maturity dates on a number of investments.

  • Minimum Opening Balance: $5,000
  • Terms: from 3 months to 24 months
  • On investments greater than $20,000 and for terms of 12 or 24 months; interest can be paid monthly, quarterly or half yearly
  • Pre-redemption may be permitted at the discretion of MCU for valid reasons of hardship. Please allow 24-48 hrs notification for any hardship pre-redemption requests.

Full 1/2 of the total interest earned
Partial 1/2 of the total interest earned for the redeemed amount
All deposits are at the discretion of Maleny Credit Union and may, from time to time, place limits on the maximum holdings of Term Deposits.
